Drip coffee is brewed in small batches and dumped when the batch gets old, which is the whole trick to a cup that still tastes like coffee at ten in the morning. We keep a couple of options going: something rounder and easy to drink all day, and something brighter for people who want to taste where the coffee came from.
If you would rather have a cup made just for you, ask for a pour-over. We grind for it, wet the bed, and pour in stages, and it takes a few minutes longer than pushing a button. That is the point. Refills on drip are cheap and we will happily fill a travel mug you brought from home instead of handing you another paper cup.
